Domestic polarizer supplier WeiDa Optoelectronics plans to IPO on the A-share market and has started listing guidance

On December 6, CITIC Securities released information disclosure on the filing of Foshan Weida Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd.'s public offering of shares to unspecified qualified investors and listing guidance.

It was disclosed that Foshan Weida Optoelectronic Materials Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Weida Optoelectronics) intends to issue and list publicly to unspecified qualified investors. It has now accepted the guidance of CITIC Construction Investment Securities Co., Ltd. and filed for guidance with the Guangdong Securities Regulatory Bureau on December 6, 2021.

According to Tianyancha, WeiDa Optoelectronics is a professional manufacturer of polarizers for liquid crystal displays. The company was established in January 2004 and is located in Foshan Plastic New Materials Industrial Park, Southwest Industrial Park, Sanshui District, Foshan City. The factory covers an area of ​​22,000 square meters and the clean room area is 11,000 square meters.

The existing production lines and supporting equipment of WeiDa Optoelectronics are mainly introduced from Japan and South Korea, with an annual production capacity of 2.5 million square meters of polarizers. It is equipped with complete testing and inspection instruments, and has more than 60 professional talents of various types, accounting for about 37% of the total number of employees in the company. It has strong R&D capabilities and has independently developed a series of high-tech polarizers such as semi-transparent, phase difference, double phase difference, 3D glasses, high-durability dye films, VA films, TFT, and car-mounted T series. The quality is comparable to similar products abroad and has been well received by mid- and high-end customers.

As a representative brand of polarizers in mainland China, the "WINDA" brand series of polarizers are widely used in multiple market fields such as instruments and meters, mobile phones, game consoles, car displays, 3D glasses, etc., and have been awarded the titles of "Guangdong Famous Brand Products", "Guangdong High-tech Products", and "Guangdong Famous and High-tech Products". In 2016, it passed the certification of "Foshan Municipal Enterprise Technology Center", in 2017 it passed the certification of "Guangdong Polarizer Engineering Technology Research Center", and in 2020 it passed the certification of "Foshan Manufacturing Segment Leading Enterprise" and "Foshan Manufacturing Hidden Champion Enterprise". As of October 2021, the company has obtained 33 patent authorizations, including 19 utility model patents and 14 invention patents.
