Nokia continued its aggressive licensing strategy, intending to use litigation to force OPPO to accept its excessive patent licensing fees.
OPPO then filed multiple patent infringement lawsuits against Nokia in China and Europe in early September, using 5G base station patents to counter Nokia. According to a report by IAM Media, a well-known overseas intellectual property media on September 9, OPPO filed the lawsuit in the Beijing Intellectual Property Court in China, and the Munich and Hamburg courts in Germany. As a representative of Chinese mobile phone manufacturers and patent implementers, OPPO quickly confronted and fought back against Nokia, demonstrating its strong patent strength and global litigation capabilities, which was widely praised by the industry. This time, OPPO sued Nokia for infringement again in the Mannheim Court in Germany, showing that OPPO's counter-lawsuit against Nokia is still continuing to increase.
