Jiwei.com previously reported that on July 1, OFILM's intelligent vehicle business unit's Shanghai office moved to a new address, and stated that the company's intelligent vehicle business has started a new journey in Shanghai.
OFILM's five-year development plan mentions "focusing on developing smart car business". Relying on its technological advantages in the field of optics and optoelectronics, the company will deeply deploy autonomous driving, body electronics and instrument control, based on optical lenses and cameras, extending to millimeter-wave radar, laser radar, head-up display (HUD) and other products, enriching the product matrix layout and providing customers with a full range of products and services.
According to the 2020 annual report, the company's smart car-related business achieved operating revenue of 557 million yuan in 2020, a year-on-year increase of 20.56%. Among them, ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) achieved operating revenue of 145 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 128.40%.
The intelligentization of automobiles is an irresistible trend. The penetration rate of ADAS is increasing rapidly, and the market size of in-vehicle sensors is expanding rapidly. Optical and optoelectronic components and other products are expected to continue to grow along with the intelligentization of automobiles. As an important basis for smart cars to make driving decisions, in-vehicle lenses are indispensable perception hardware, and will also benefit from the rapid penetration of autonomous driving applications and usher in a surge in demand.
