A few days ago, MediaTek officially released the new Dimensity 900 5G chip. This new mobile processor is the latest member of the Dimensity lineup of 5G SoCs, which is built on a high-performance 6nm process.
According to an official statement, the new Dimensity 900 5G SoC supports the Wi-Fi 6 standard and can provide a high refresh rate of 120Hz on the FHD+ panel. In addition, the processor can also support a 108-megapixel main camera. "The Dimensity 900 brings a set of connectivity, display and 4K HDR visual enhancements to high-end 5G smartphones, and provides great design flexibility for the 5G product portfolios of various brands," said the vice president and general manager of MediaTek's wireless communications business unit. The Dimensity 900
chip also integrates a 5G New Radio (NR) sub-6GHz modem with carrier aggregation capabilities and supports up to 120MHz bandwidth. The chip is an octa-core CPU consisting of two ARM Cortex A78 processors with speeds up to 2.4GHz and six ARM Cortex A55 cores up to 2GHz.
MediaTek Dimensity 900 also supports PDDR5 memory and UFS 3.1 storage, and is equipped with an integrated ARM Mali G68 MC4 graphics processor (GPU) and an independent AI processor (APU).
