TSMC's Q1 net profit is NT$139.7 billion

According to Jiwei.com, today (15), TSMC’s official website announced its first quarter financial report ending March 31, 2021.

Data shows that TSMC's consolidated revenue in the first quarter was NT$362.41 billion (NT$, the same below) and its net income was NT$139.69 billion.

Compared to the same period last year, first quarter revenue increased 16.7%, while net income and diluted earnings per share both increased 19.4%. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2020, the first quarter results represent a 0.2% increase in revenue and a 2.2% decrease in net income. In US dollar terms, first quarter revenue was $12.92 billion, an increase of 25.4% year-on-year and 1.9% sequentially. Gross margin for the quarter was 52.4%, operating margin was 41.5%, and net margin was 38.6%.

In the first quarter, 5nm shipments accounted for 14% of total wafer revenue, and 7nm accounted for 35%. Overall, revenue from advanced processes (including 7nm and above) reached 49% of the total wafer sales in the quarter.
