Xiaomi announced: 516 appearance designs ranked first in China and fifth in the world

      Recently, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) released the results of international registrations for patents, trademarks and industrial designs in 2020.

　　In terms of registration results of the international design system (Hague System), the number from China increased by 22.7%. Xiaomi ranked fifth in the world (up 13 places) with 516 design registrations, becoming the first Chinese company to rank among the top five.

　　Looking at the top five lists, South Korea's Samsung Electronics topped the applicant list for the fourth consecutive year with 859 designs, followed by Procter & Gamble of the United States (623), Fonkel Meubelmarketing of the Netherlands (569), Volkswagen of Germany (524) and Beijing Xiaomi Mobile Software Co., Ltd. of China (516).

　　Xiaomi said: Our ability to achieve such results is a reflection of the continuous improvement of the innovation capabilities of Chinese companies.

　　Xiaomi Group has attached great importance to design since its inception. Two of the eight founders of the group are designers. In the past 10 years, Xiaomi's design has not only withstood the test of consumers in the market, but has also been repeatedly recognized by authoritative organizations.

　　When the Mijia brand was first established, Xiaomi clearly stated that it wanted to "create works of art in life". In 2017, Xiaomi won the highest awards of Germany's iF Design, Germany's Red Dot Design, the United States' IDEA Design and Japan's Good Design within a year, achieving a grand slam of the world's highest design awards.

　　As of March 2021, Xiaomi Group and its ecosystem have won more than 600 international and domestic design awards. Among them, Xiaomi MIX won the US IDEA Design Gold Award, and a series of Xiaomi ecosystem products won the iF Gold Award, Good Design Best 100, and Red Dot Best of the Best three major design awards.

　　The Xiaomi MIX series of mobile phones are collected by three of the world's top museums: the Pompidou National Art and Culture Center in France, the Finnish National Museum of Design, and the International Design Museum in Munich, Germany.
