Jiwei.com reported on January 21 that according to DoNews, the R&D departments of OnePlus and OPPO have been merged, and the offers for new employees in R&D positions are all issued by OPPO, not OnePlus.
According to an OPPO insider, the R&D departments of the two companies had been basically merged as early as December and are now affiliated with the entire Ouga Group. R&D is no longer conducted separately, but the original features are still maintained in terms of software for the time being. It is similar to the relationship between Xiaomi and Redmi, which only share a R&D system.
At the end of August last year, Liu Zuohu, founder and CEO of OnePlus, returned to OPPO as senior vice president of Ouga Holdings (which holds 100% of OPPO), and was fully responsible for the planning and experience of Ouga's products. Liu Zuohu's identity as founder and CEO of OnePlus remains unchanged.
In addition, the online shopping malls of companies under Ouga were also merged and renamed HuanTian Mall. Products include mobile phones and peripheral products of the three major brands OPPO, OnePlus and realme.
