The year 2020 that has just passed has brought many challenges to the domestic semiconductor industry. Various black swan events such as the sudden epidemic and the Sino-US trade conflict have also forced the industry to re-examine its development path and focus.

Anhui Xindonglianke Microsystem Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xindonglianke"), a company dedicated to the industrialization of high-performance MEMS sensors, has achieved counter-cyclical growth in the past year, with multiple products in mass production. The company expects its sales to increase by about 40% in 2020. At the same time, the new generation of MEMS gyroscope/accelerometer projects under development are progressing smoothly, and engineering sample verification has been completed. The new products will have higher cost-effectiveness, smaller size and power consumption, and can better meet the diverse needs of industrial applications.

Filling the gap in high-end MEMS inertial sensors

Founded in 2012, Innosilicon has developed a series of high-end MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers with independent and controllable patented technologies in just eight years. Its performance indicators have reached the international advanced level, making it one of the very few domestic manufacturers that can mass-produce high-end MEMS inertial devices, filling many gaps in domestic high-end MEMS inertial sensors.

It is reported that Xindonglian Technology has brought together many outstanding scientists in the fields of MEMS design and ASIC chip design and packaging from around the world. The team has more than 20 years of MEMS process accumulation and tape-out experience, equipped with domestically independently controllable mature MEMS process lines and unique MEMS sensor packaging patented technology and automated testing and calibration lines. At present, the company's products have been mass-applied in industrial production, unmanned system navigation and control, oil exploration measurement and mapping, bridge monitoring, geological exploration, and disaster warning.

It is worth mentioning that Bengbu City, Anhui Province, where the headquarters of Xindonglianke is located, has combined its own industrial accumulation and market advantages in recent years to embark on a unique path of integrated circuit industry development; it has successfully established the MEMS National and Local Joint Engineering Laboratory and the Anhui Province Major Emerging Industry Project for the Industrialization of MEMS Devices, and gradually formed a comprehensive industrial base integrating MEMS sensor R&D design, process processing, packaging and testing. Xindonglianke works closely with relevant units in Anhui Province to fully utilize and give play to the advantages of local industrial cluster resources, continuously improve its technical strength and market service level, and is committed to the industrialization of high-performance MEMS sensors. In addition to Bengbu, the company also has a Beijing R&D center and a Wuxi packaging and testing center, with a current registered capital of nearly 350 million yuan.

Deeply cultivate the industrial Internet of Things and break through the "Chinese chip"

Xindonglianke is optimistic about the breakthrough and market opportunities of "Chinese core" in the field of industrial Internet of Things. For many years, it has focused on high-precision and high-reliability MEMS inertial sensors, continuously improving product quality and environmental adaptability to harsh working conditions to meet the requirements of long-term stable operation of industrial applications. Jiwei.com learned that the company plans to launch a new generation of industrial-grade gyroscopes and accelerometers in 2021, which are suitable for applications such as inclination measurement, vibration monitoring, attitude measurement, and autonomous driving inertial navigation, which can better meet the system manufacturers' needs for lower power consumption, smaller size, and lower cost. At the same time, the company is also planning the next generation of highly integrated monolithic 6-axis inertial sensors.

Regarding the domestic semiconductor industry, Xindong Lianke believes that the next 3-5 years will be a rare opportunity for domestic semiconductor manufacturers. In the long run, the huge domestic market needs a semiconductor industry to match it; after experiencing the trade disputes in the past two years, domestic system manufacturers have begun to actively try the products of domestic semiconductor companies, and even joined the trend of chip manufacturing in various ways. However, if domestic manufacturers want to truly grow up, they must develop hard-core technologies that can compete with international semiconductor manufacturers in some aspects. If they take steady steps and start from the point to the surface, they will have a good chance of becoming a leader in a certain segment.

It is worth mentioning that Xindong Lianke is currently actively preparing to list on the Science and Technology Innovation Board, hoping to enhance its capital strength and accelerate the development of its main business through equity financing in the securities market.
