Xiaomi Mi 11 is the world’s first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 888 and is now available for sale. According to the total sales figures released by Xiaomi, it is estimated that around 350,000 units have been sold.
By default, the Xiaomi Mi 11 will not come with a charger. But unlike Apple, Xiaomi wants to offer buyers a choice for a limited time. The version with a charger is called the "package version" and includes a 55W GaN charger worth 99 yuan. The one that does not come with a charger is called the "standard version."
Xiaomi released a statement on Weibo, announcing that of all orders placed on the first day of sales, 20,000+ users chose the eco-friendly "Standard Edition," a figure that equates to less than 6% of the total number of devices sold.
In a press release, Xiaomi thanked the 20,000+ users for choosing to make the world a better place in their own way. Xiaomi also previously revealed that it had considered not including a charger as early as 2015.
In the coming months, more manufacturers are expected to follow this new trend.
