After much anticipation, DXOMark finally announced the camera score of Apple's new flagship iPhone 12 Pro Max, with an overall score of 130 points, which is also the best result achieved by all generations of Apple phones in DXOMark.
Of course, under DXO's evaluation system, the overall performance of the iPhone 12 Pro Max still lost to Huawei Mate 40 Pro (136 points), Xiaomi 10 Extreme Commemorative Edition (133 points), and Huawei P40 Pro (132 points).
DXO said that the image quality of the iPhone 12 Pro Max is very good, the autofocus can lock the focus quickly and accurately, the details are rich, and the colors are pleasant.

Additionally, Apple still leads the pack in terms of preview, so what you see when framing is very similar to the final result. Dynamic range could use some improvement, though.
The iPhone’s weakest link is its lack of telephoto capabilities, which is something we’ve seen far better in competing flagships, so if you really care about your camera’s zoom range, there are other phones that excel in this regard.
DXO believes that overall, the video performance of the Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max is excellent, second only to the best mobile phones we have seen. It has a wide dynamic range, good colors, low noise, and effective anti-shake, so the iPhone is a good choice for users who attach great importance to video functions.
As for mobile photographers who are loyal to the iOS ecosystem and are willing to pay a high price for a mobile phone, the iPhone 12 Pro Max should not disappoint.
