Jiwei.com reported on November 10 that today, Coolpad’s official Weibo account released a statement, deciding to proactively terminate the series of patent lawsuits with Xiaomi and withdraw the ongoing related cases from now on.
As for why it decided to withdraw the lawsuit, Coolpad officials said that faced with profound and complex changes in the domestic and international environment, breaking through technological bottlenecks and promoting better and faster development of the industry is currently the top priority for technology companies including Coolpad and Xiaomi.
In early 2018, Coolpad Group Co., Ltd. initiated a series of patent infringement lawsuits against Xiaomi Corporation. As of now, some cases are still being heard in court.

In early 2018, Coolpad Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Coolpad") initiated a series of patent infringement lawsuits against Xiaomi. As of now, some cases are still under trial in court. In 2020, we deeply feel that the country's development is still in an important strategic opportunity period. Facing the profound and complex changes in the domestic and international environment, breaking through technological bottlenecks and promoting better and faster development of the industry are the top priorities of technology companies including Coolpad and Xiaomi. Coolpad has decided to take the initiative to terminate the series of patent lawsuits with Xiaomi and withdraw the ongoing related cases.
