Recently, according to @数码闲聊站, MediaTek is developing two new chip products, code-named MT6893 and MT6891.
It is said that the two products will use 5nm or 6nm process and ARM Cortex-A78 core. In addition, it is reported that MediaTek will first use 6nm, an improved version of 7nm, due to the low yield of 5nm in the early stage, and then use 5nm after the technology matures and the cost is reduced next year.

ARM officially announced its latest products, the Cortex-A78 CPU and Mali-G78 GPU, on May 26, and said they will be used in the next generation of flagship smartphones in 2021 and beyond. Compared with last year's Cortex-A77 design, the Cortex-A78 has a 20% increase in "sustained performance" while keeping the power budget within 1 watt.
ARM said this performance can provide higher efficiency for 5G devices with demanding performance when the battery is high. ARM also said that the new CPU design will be well suited for foldable devices with multiple and larger screens and heavy computing.
The Cortex-A78's energy consumption is reduced by 50% compared to the previous generation, but its area is reduced by 5%, saving about 15% of the area for the quad-core cluster. Industry insiders say this will free up more space for additional GPUs, NPUs and other components.
