Q3 global smartphone shipments fell 1.3% year-on-year, with Samsung, Huawei and Xiaomi being the top three

On the morning of October 30, the well-known market research company IDC released the third quarter global smartphone market statistics report on Thursday.

The report shows that global smartphone shipments in the third quarter were 353.6 million units, down 1.3% from 358.5 million units in the same period last year.

 

Samsung continued to rank first with a market share of 22.7%. Huawei ranked second, but its shipments fell 22% year-on-year to 51.9 million units, with a market share of 14.7%. Xiaomi's shipments in the third quarter increased 42% year-on-year to 46.5 million units, surpassing Apple and ranking third. Apple's iPhone shipments in the quarter were 41.6 million units, a year-on-year decline of 10.6%. Vivo ranked fifth with shipments of 31.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 4.2%.
