Recently, Xiaomi’s official Weibo account published a long article reviewing the development history of Xiaomi’s wired charging.
In 2011, the first generation of Xiaomi mobile phones used 5V1A 5W charging, which was ahead of the 500mA charging of the same period.
In 2013, Xiaomi 3 adopted an integrated design with a non-removable battery for the first time, supporting the then advanced Quick Charge technology QC 2.0. The optional fast charging head can achieve 10W (5V2A) fast charging, shortening the charging time by 30%.
It is worth mentioning that starting from Xiaomi 3, Xiaomi officially started to develop fast charging technology.
In 2015, Xiaomi Mi 5 adopted the latest QC 3.0 dual charger parallel charging technology, which increased the charging rate by 20% and the power was increased again, up to 18W charging.
Xiaomi also did not forget to complain that the three generations of products from Xiaomi 5 to Xiaomi 8 all have 18W fast charging.
In 2019, Xiaomi Mi 9 adopted 27W wired charging, which increased the charging power for the first time. While increasing the charging power, it also reduced the energy loss during the charging process and passed the German Rhine TÜV safety and fast charging certification.
As an upgraded version of Xiaomi 9, Xiaomi 9 Pro, released in the same year, has upgraded its charging capabilities again, supporting 40W wired charging and coming standard with a 45W power adapter, which can fully charge a 4000mAh battery in 48 minutes.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, released in February 2020, increased the charging power to 50W, which Xiaomi said was almost the maximum charging power of a single-cell solution at the time. 4500mAh, 100% charge in 45 minutes.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra Commemorative Edition, which debuted in August 2020, uses the industry's rare 120W ultra-high-power wired charging. It has a built-in butterfly dual-string battery cell, equivalent to 4500mAh, which can charge 41% in 5 minutes and 100% in 23 minutes, making it the first mass-produced mobile phone that supports 120W ultra-high-power charging.
