Xiaomi may release a new MIX 4 surround screen phone in October

      Dutch technology blog LetsGoDigital reported that Xiaomi may release the legendary MIX 4 smartphone in October this year. An earlier design patent has revealed that the company will launch a new product with an "AI super zoom camera". Since 2016, the MIX series, which focuses on innovation and artistic design, has been very popular with consumers. The MIX Alpha surround screen concept phone released in October 2019 is even more eye-catching.

　　It is reported that the screen of Xiaomi MIX Alpha is manufactured by Visionox. Although the phone has never been officially released, the two companies have signed a multi-year agreement, so we are expected to see their latest cooperation on the new phone.

　　For consumers and manufacturers, the suggested retail price of 2550 Euros (about 17,800 RMB) is obviously not an affordable figure. Xiaomi also admitted that MIX Alpha is more to demonstrate its capabilities in flexible display technology.

　　As for the "AI super zoom" technology described in the earlier patent (paired with a 108-megapixel sensor), it may be realized on MIX 4 in October this year.

　　The patent document depicts various angles of this concept model. Based on this, LetsGoDigital also teamed up with Concept Creator to launch a 3D rendering video.

　　The design document also shows two versions of the concept model, one with a regular black shell and the other with a transparent shell similar to the "Exploration Edition".

　　The image also shows the phone’s built-in AI GPU, 5G baseband, and a 108-megapixel image sensor that supports super zoom, and the rear camera module only contains this one lens.

　　The surround screen not only makes the screen-to-body ratio exceed the limit of "100% on a single side", but also provides a more convenient usage option for selfie enthusiasts (the lower back of the body occupies about 60% of the display area).
