Some time ago, the Galaxy Book lon notebook made a stunning debut at Samsung's press conference. This notebook is equipped with a wireless charging function, which can "protect the battery life" of Samsung mobile phones. At the same time, this is also the first notebook product with wireless charging designed on the touchpad.

Wireless charging technology is generally classified into electromagnetic induction type using coils, type using resonance, and radio frequency (RF) or microwave radiation type that converts electrical energy into microwaves to transmit power, etc. Among them, electromagnetic induction type charging technology has become the mainstream. Electromagnetic induction type power transmission is a type of power transmission between a primary coil and a secondary coil using the following characteristics, that is, current is induced by the movement of a magnet relative to the coil to generate electricity, and using this, the transmitting end generates a magnetic field, and the receiving end acts as a magnet to generate energy. This phenomenon is called magnetic induction phenomenon, and the power transmission method using this phenomenon has excellent energy transfer efficiency.

Samsung is one of the early R&D companies of wireless charging technology. As early as 2011, Samsung applied for an invention patent called "Wireless Charging Method and Device for Electronic Devices" (application number: 201180013574.7), and the applicant was Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.

Figure 1 Schematic diagram of the configuration of an electronic device performing wireless charging A

The above figure mainly shows the configuration of the power transmission unit 210 and the power receiving unit 220 that perform wireless charging.

The power providing device 10 mainly refers to a power transmission unit 210, which includes a power conversion unit 211, a control unit 213, and a coil 212. As shown in FIG1, the power conversion unit 211 can be connected to the coil 212 to generate a magnetic field. The control unit 213 can control the power conversion unit 211 to provide power to the power receiving device 20 until the desired level is reached.

The power receiving device 20 includes a power receiving unit 220 and a battery 224. This power receiving unit 220 includes a power delivery unit 221, a control unit 223, and a coil 222. The power delivery unit 221 is connected to the coil 222 so that power can be delivered to the power transmission unit 210 and the power conversion unit 211. The control unit 223 operates to provide power to an appropriate load connected to the power delivery unit 221.

FIG2 is a schematic diagram of an electronic device configuration for performing wireless charging B

2 is a schematic diagram of a configuration of a wirelessly chargeable electronic device, which includes a control unit 250 , an input unit 260 , a display unit 265 , a storage unit 270 , a wireless communication unit 275 , and a wireless charging unit 255 .

Among them, the input unit 260 mainly receives user input; the display unit 265 outputs the content to be displayed, such as charging status and charging time, etc. under the control of the control unit 250; the control unit 250 controls the various components of the wirelessly chargeable electronic device, performs the setting (mode change) of the corresponding electronic device so as to request the electronic device if charging is required, and performs wireless charging by receiving power provided from at least one selected second electronic device. The storage unit 270 can be used to store information required for operating the wirelessly chargeable electronic device; the wireless communication unit 275 performs mobile communication with another electronic device or a base station/server, and receives a response to the request using a near field communication method such as ZigBee, Bluetooth, WiFi, ultra-wideband (UWB), etc.

The above is a method and device proposed by Samsung that can perform wireless charging between electronic devices. In fact, in addition to Samsung, many equipment manufacturers such as Apple and Huawei have also "made efforts" in the field of wireless charging, and faster wireless charging is in the works.

Charging is actually the most familiar and common mobile phone "function" for the majority of users, but the more common the function and the closer the technology to life, the more likely it is to produce more intense technological collisions.
