At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' regular press conference on September 4, a reporter issued a statement in response to a question about the United States' new round of "criminal investigation into theft of trade secrets" against Huawei.

In this regard, Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said: The Chinese government has always encouraged Chinese companies to cooperate with foreign countries in accordance with market principles and international rules and in compliance with local laws. At the same time, China also firmly opposes the United States using state power to suppress specific Chinese companies without any evidence.

Geng Shuang stressed that such behavior is neither honorable nor moral, and is a denial of the market economy principles that the United States has always advocated. We urge the United States to stop the wrong practice of generalizing national security, stop deliberately smearing and accusing China, stop the unreasonable suppression of Chinese companies, and provide a fair competition and non-discriminatory environment for Chinese companies to operate normally in the United States.
