According to foreign media reports, Huawei on Tuesday denied a Bloomberg report that operator Vodafone found so-called "backdoors" in software provided by Huawei in 2011.

Bloomberg reported that Vodafone had found vulnerabilities in equipment supplied by Huawei for its Italian operations. Vodafone said the security holes were discovered in 2011 and 2012, but they were quickly fixed.

Huawei said in a statement that the claim that it hides backdoors in its equipment is "absolutely untrue." Huawei also said the Bloomberg report "refers to a repair and diagnostic function that is common across the industry, as well as vulnerabilities that were corrected seven years ago."
