According to CCTV News, the world's first 5G-A smart airport synaesthesia integrated base station was recently completed and opened at Yunrui Airport in Baoshan, Yunnan. This is the first time that 5G-A synaesthesia integration technology and artificial intelligence have been applied in the construction of a smart airport.

"Synesthesia" refers to the integration of communication and perception. Its English name is Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC). It is based on the existing cellular mobile communication network (communication capability), superimposed with radar-like functions (perception capability), and can detect the surrounding surroundings. Detect and track objects such as humans, machines, cars or ships. 5G-A's integrated synaesthesia requires its own AAU (active antenna) to provide independent ground and air beams: both communication beams and perception beams.

According to reports, 5G-A has a theoretical peak rate of up to 10Gbps, with millisecond-level latency and centimeter-level positioning accuracy. It also introduces synaesthesia, artificial intelligence and other technologies to better match the Internet of Vehicles, high-end manufacturing, perception, etc. application.

5G-A synaesthesia integrated technology can integrate communication, perception, computing power and other technologies to prevent airport intrusions. It can automatically identify and warn potential security risks, realize the upgrade from "human defense" to "technical defense", and effectively improve Airport airspace and runway security.

In contrast, traditional airport runway intrusion prevention uses a combination of manual inspection and radar, which has problems such as monitoring blind spots and equipment power outages. Through the monitoring platform connected to the 5G-A base station, it can sense and track drones, birds, vehicles and personnel activities within the airport in real-time in low-altitude scenes. At the same time, artificial intelligence technology can be used to analyze and process the sensed data. Objects and related activities can be identified more accurately.

In the past, the perception of drones on the route could only achieve real-time tracking and presentation of the trajectory. However, after the introduction of 5G-A technology, trajectory prediction and behavior prediction can be realized, and early warning can be provided before the drone route deviates or collides. .
