On October 17, 2024, WPG Holdings, a leading international semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market,
announced that its subsidiary Pinjia has launched an AI recognition and detection solution based on MediaTek's Genio 510 edge intelligent IoT platform.

AI recognition and detection technology is a key link in realizing intelligent applications. It gives intelligent systems the ability to understand and process complex information, enabling them to make autonomous decisions and respond instantly . To support the development of intelligent applications, MediaTek launched an AI recognition and detection solution based on the MediaTek Genio 510 edge intelligent IoT platform. The solution combines advanced algorithms and deep learning technology to provide efficient and intelligent image processing and analysis functions for applications such as smart retail, industrial automation, and smart homes, and promote the intelligent transformation of various industries.

MediaTek Genio 510 is a highly integrated and powerful edge intelligence platform, equipped with high-performance ARM Cortex-A78 and energy-efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores, supporting Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6 and 5G modules, which can meet the application's demand for Internet connection. At the same time, Genio 510 supports multiple operating systems, such as Yocto Linux, Ubuntu OS and Android, providing developers with a flexible development environment, making it easier for them to innovate various products.
In addition, Genio 510 integrates LPDDR4X DRAM and eMMC boot storage, and is also equipped with an OpenGL ES 3.2 3D graphics accelerator and a dedicated AI processor unit, supporting hardware JPEG image decoder and encoder. These hardware features ensure the efficiency and performance of the platform when processing graphics and AI tasks.
In terms of software support, the ailia AI showcase used in this solution is a deep learning framework that focuses on reasoning on the end side. It can provide a variety of AI functions, such as object detection, image classification, feature extraction, skeleton extraction, and face recognition. These functions all use pre-trained models, allowing users to fully understand and experience the powerful functions of AI.

With powerful software and hardware support, this solution enables the system to autonomously learn and adapt to environmental changes, accelerating the development and implementation of intelligent applications. For example, in the fields of security monitoring, autonomous driving, and smart retail, this solution can automatically identify and mark images, or detect objects in videos through artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms, thereby quickly and accurately analyzing environmental information and improving the intelligence and automation level of applications.
