On the Internet, every device has an IP address. An IP address is similar to a home address in our daily life. If a device wants to communicate with another device, it must know the IP address of the other device in order to send data to the other device.
For devices in smart factories, IP addresses are generally assigned by manufacturers, and multiple devices may use duplicate IP addresses, which can cause them to be unable to communicate with each other and easily lead to network paralysis. In this regard, Wutong Broadlink provides NAT gateways (network segment isolators) to effectively solve these problems.
NAT gateway (network segment isolator) can be used to convert between intranet IP addresses and public IP addresses, thereby realizing network communication and data collection. For example, multiple PLC devices in a factory have their own intranet IP addresses, which can be connected to the NAT gateway; when the factory equipment sends data to the outside, the intranet IP in the data will be converted to the public IP on the gateway; when external data is sent to the factory equipment, the public IP in the data will be converted to the intranet IP.
In this way, the LAN devices in the factory can share the same IP address or multiple specific IP addresses. Even if the equipment manufacturer only assigns one IP address to the user, these devices can access the Internet at the same time.
