In this case, Siemens 1200 PLC is connected to Parker compax3 servo drive through EtherCAT to Profinet gateway. It supports EtherCAT protocol in normal operation. As EtherCAT slave, the monitoring system Siemens S7-1200 series PLC supports PROFINET protocol. Kaijiang Intelligent EtherCAT to Profinet Gateway module connects Siemens S7-1200 PLC (PROFINET) and Parker compax3 servo drive communication.
1. First, import the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway GSD file into the Siemens PLC configuration software.
2. Find the folder where the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway GSD is located.
3. Add the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway module and set the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway IP address and device name.
4. Add the input and output byte lengths.
5. Save the configuration and download it to the PLC, open the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway configuration software, create a new project and set the EtherCAT to Profinet gateway IP and device name (keep it consistent with the PLC configuration, such as changing pn2ecat to pn1).
6. Add slave servo and set some basic parameters of the slave (the station number is usually sorted automatically, so just keep the default);
7. Set the PDO parameter allocation of the slave station (since it has been automatically configured, just keep the default).
