Traditional edge video analytics solutions are often limited by performance challenges, forcing companies to accept a reactive approach to data when they need to be proactive in making real-time decisions. Megh Computing addresses the need for faster insights with its scalable Video Analytics Solutions (VAS) portfolio powered by Intel technology, addressing these challenges and opening up new use cases and possibilities for edge-to-cloud computing analytics.
Megh Computing’s Video Analytics Solutions (VAS) portfolio provides a flexible and scalable video analytics pipeline consisting of the following elements:
Video Capture
Video conversion
Object Detection and Reasoning
Video Analysis
Visualization
Megh's VAS portfolio is highly scalable and can easily process live video streams from more than 150 cameras. Because it is so flexible, you can use VAS pipeline elements to build a variety of video analytics applications, such as:
Factory floor monitoring to ensure unauthorized visitors and employees avoid hazardous or secure areas
Industrial monitoring to ensure production meets specifications
Smart city highway monitoring to detect vehicle collisions and other public events
Retail foot traffic monitoring to aid kiosk, terminal and product positioning and other marketing activities
Museum and gallery exhibition monitoring to ensure safe distance between visitors and exhibits
As the number of cameras can be scaled to more than 100 using the VAS portfolio, it became clear that Megh needed a foundational technology portfolio that could meet the solution’s demanding video throughput, compute, and scalability requirements. Megh chose a broad portfolio of integrated Intel technologies, including the latest 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, Intel Stratix FPGAs, Intel Core processors, and the Intel Distribution of OpenVINO toolkit.
Knowledge Development
The Intel Stratix FPGA and SoC families combine high density, high performance, and a rich feature set to enable more functionality and maximize system bandwidth, enabling customers to bring best-in-class, high-performance products to market faster and with less risk. More information about Intel Stratix FPGAs and SoCs.
Megh also selected WWT’s Advanced Technology Center (ATC), a collaborative ecosystem for designing, building, training, demonstrating and deploying innovative technology products and integrated architecture solutions for WWT customers, partners and employees, to demonstrate the capabilities of VAS. WWT built and hosted the Megh VAS environment in its ATC, allowing WWT and Megh customers to explore the solution in a variety of use cases, including specific customer environment needs and other requirements.
