The three-phase motor is a common electric motor. Its working principle is to use the rotating magnetic field generated by the three-phase alternating current in the stator winding to drive the rotor to rotate. Among them, the winding method of the stator winding is one of the important factors affecting the performance of the motor. This article will introduce the winding method of the three-phase motor.

1. Basic concept of stator winding

The stator winding is an important part of the three-phase motor. It consists of three independent windings, which are connected to the three-phase power supply. Each winding is composed of multiple coils, which are connected together according to a certain rule to form a closed circuit. When the three-phase power supply is energized, a rotating magnetic field is generated in the stator winding, thereby driving the rotor to rotate.

2. Winding method of stator winding

1. Single-layer winding method

The single-layer winding method is the simplest winding method and the most commonly used method. This method is to wind each coil directly on a slot, and then connect all the coils together according to a certain rule. The advantage of the single-layer winding method is that the structure is simple and easy to implement; the disadvantage is that the performance of the motor is limited, because each slot can only accommodate one coil, so the slot space cannot be fully utilized.

2. Double-layer winding method

The double-layer winding method is to divide each coil into two layers, wind them on two slots respectively, and then connect all the coils together according to a certain rule. The advantage of the double-layer winding method is that it can improve the output power and efficiency of the motor; the disadvantage is that the structure is complex and requires more materials and processes.

3. Wave winding method

The wave winding method is to divide each coil into multiple parts, wind them on multiple slots respectively, and then connect all the coils together according to a certain rule. The advantage of the wave winding method is that it can improve the efficiency and output power of the motor; the disadvantage is that it requires more complex design and manufacturing processes.

4. Fractional Turn Winding Method

The fractional turn winding method is to divide each coil into multiple parts, wind them on multiple slots respectively, and then connect all the coils together according to a certain rule. The advantage of the fractional turn winding method is that it can improve the efficiency and output power of the motor; the disadvantage is that it requires more complex design and manufacturing processes.

3. Matters Needing Attention for Stator Winding

1. Select appropriate coil material and specifications to ensure that the resistance and inductance of the coil meet the requirements.

2. Reasonably design the shape and size of the coil to make full use of the slot space and improve the efficiency and output power of the motor.

3. Reasonably select the number of turns and arrangement of the coil to control the speed and torque of the motor.

4. Pay attention to the mutual influence between coils to avoid electromagnetic interference and short circuit problems.

5. Carry out winding and wiring strictly according to the design requirements to ensure that the quality and performance of the motor meet the requirements.

In short, the stator winding of a three-phase motor is one of the important factors affecting the performance of the motor. Choosing the appropriate winding method and precautions can improve the efficiency and output power of the motor and extend the service life of the motor.
