In industrial automation, sensors play a vital role to automate production. For example, changes in position, length, height, presence, exterior, and misalignment occur in industrial production sites. So in the field of industrial automation, robots need sensors to provide the necessary information to correctly perform related operations.

Sensors are also divided into many types. Let me introduce you to several types of sensors.

Working principle of fiber optic sensor

(1) Functional type: Made using some sensitive characteristics or functions of the optical fiber itself

(2) Light transmission type: The optical fiber only transmits light. Other sensitive elements are installed on the end face or in the middle of the optical fiber to sense changes in the measured value.

Features: High sensitivity; The geometric shape has many adaptability and can be made into optical fiber sensors of any shape; It can manufacture devices that sense various physical information (acoustic, magnetic, temperature, rotation, etc.); It can be used in high voltage, electrical noise, high temperature, corrosion, or other harsh environments; And it has inherent compatibility with optical fiber telemetry technology.

Photoelectric sensor: Photoelectric sensor is a sensor that uses photoelectric elements as detection elements. It first converts the measured changes into changes in light signals, and then further converts the light signals into electrical signals with the help of photoelectric elements. Photoelectric sensors are generally composed of three parts: light source, optical path and photoelectric element.

It can be used to detect non-electrical physical quantities that directly cause changes in light quantity, such as light intensity, illuminance, radiation temperature measurement, gas composition analysis, etc.; it can also be used to detect other non-electrical quantities that can be converted into changes in light quantity, such as part diameter, surface roughness, strain, displacement, vibration, speed, acceleration, as well as identification of object shape and working status, etc.

Weld seam tracking sensor: Its function is to automatically detect and adjust the position of the welding gun during the welding process so that it can always follow the welding position for welding. The distance between the welding gun and the workpiece is always kept constant, thereby ensuring the welding quality, improving welding efficiency and reducing labor intensity.

Pressure sensor: Pressure sensor is the most commonly used sensor in industrial practice. The pressure sensors we commonly use are mainly made using the piezoelectric effect. Such sensors are also called piezoelectric sensors.

Piezoelectric sensors are mainly used in the measurement of acceleration, pressure and force. Piezoelectric acceleration sensor is a commonly used accelerometer. It has excellent characteristics such as simple structure, small size, light weight and long service life.

Displacement sensor: As the name implies, it is a sensor that detects the position change of the target object. Displacement sensor, also known as linear sensor, is a linear device belonging to metal sensing. The function of the sensor is to convert various measured physical quantities into electrical quantities.

In the production process, displacement measurement is generally divided into two types: measuring physical size and mechanical displacement. According to the different forms of measured variable transformation, displacement sensors can be divided into analog and digital types.

Color mark sensor: Color mark sensor is also called photoelectric detection sensor (commonly known as photoelectric head, photoelectric eye). It is a detection device widely used in automatic control systems in packaging, printing, textile, papermaking and other industries to distinguish colors and detect color marks. When used with other equipment, it can realize automatic positioning, fixed length, color identification, slitting, deviation correction, registration, counting and other functions.
