GC4931F/S is a three-phase brushless DC motor pre-driver chip. The chip can drive N-type power MOSFET with a maximum power supply of 36V. The chip state switching logic is determined by three Hall inputs with a phase difference of 120°.
The chip integrates pulse modulation with fixed decay time to control current and suppress excitation inrush current; adjustable stall protection time; over-temperature protection, over-voltage monitoring, synchronous rectification, etc. The built-in synchronous rectifier reduces power consumption by turning on a suitable low-resistance switch tube to replace the reverse freewheeling diode during the decay cycle. When the chip detects overvoltage, the chip will turn off the synchronous rectification to reduce the power supply voltage fluctuation caused by the changing current.
The logic input pins of GC4931F/S include enable control (ENABLE), direction control (DIR), and brake control (BRAKE); the logic output pins FG1 and FG2 correspond to the Hall signal and can be used to monitor the rotation speed. The chip operating temperature ranges from -20 to 105°C.
The operating voltage of GC4931F/S is as low as 4.7V. The package is 5mmx5mm QFN 28-pin with a heat sink at the bottom.
