According to news on November 6, at today’s Loongson Zhongke 2023 third quarter performance briefing, Loongson Zhongke announced “Dragon Chain Technology” for the first time.

According to reports, the design of the Loongson 3C6000 server chip has been basically completed. It is equipped with 16 cores and 32 threads. It realizes inter-chip interconnection through Loongson Coherenent Link technology and will be delivered to tape-out in the near future.

IT House learned from the performance briefing that Longchain technology benchmarks nVLink and CXL and can realize the connection of Chiplets (small chips and cores). Loongson Zhongke said that compared with the inter-chip interconnection protocol of 3A5000, the inter-chip interconnection delay is doubled, the bandwidth is increased several times, and the performance of multi-chip collaborative work is greatly improved. Compared with nvlink, the speed of Dragonlink is still lower (the current bit rate is 16Gbps, and it will be increased to 32Gbps in the next step), but the efficiency is already good.

Hu Weiwu, chairman and general manager of Loongson Zhongke, said: "Compared with 3C5000, 3C6000's general processing performance, IO performance, and inter-chip interconnection performance have been greatly improved, and the cost has been reduced. I think it should have certain competitiveness in specific open markets. "
