The PS176 is a DisplayPort (DP) to HDMI2.0 video interface converter for cable adapters, TV receivers, monitors and other applications that require video protocol conversion. It will accept any DisplayPort input format, including DP 1.1a, DP1.2a, DP1.3 or DP1.4. It can output traditional HDMI and DVI video modes as well as HDMI2.0 formats. HDMI 2 is supported to the maximum allowed TMDS date rate of 6Gb/s, enabling 4K Ultra HD video to be played at 60 frames per second in 4:4:4 video mode at 24 bits per second.
The PS176 provides an integrated microprocessor that implements automatic configuration and microcode using an internal SPIROM. The SPI ROM can be updated in real time through the display port auxiliary channel or the device I2C input device. System control is available through the I2C slave input, and the I2C master interface can be used for external EDID and extended functions. Both HDCO 1.4 and HDCP 2.2 content protection protocols and necessary HDCP regeneration functions are supported, including HDCP repeater function, and integrated HDCP receive or send function.
CS5263 is a DP1.4 to HDMI 2.0 or DP1.4 to HDMI 4K60HZ audio and video conversion chip. CS5263 can be compatible with the parameters and functional features of PS176, and is mainly used to design DP to HDMI2.0 audio and video converters or DP to HDMI 4K60Hz audio and video adapters and other products. It can also be used in the following products:
DisplayPort to HDMI Active Protocol Converter
DisplayPort Alt Mode to HDMI Protocol Converter over USB Type-C
Thunderbolt to HDMI Protocol Converter
HDMI output driver on the dock
DisplayPort input on a TV receiver
DisplayPort input on monitor
CS5263 replaces PS176 parameter characteristics:
Integrated DisplayPort receiver and HDMI 2.0 transmitter for video format conversion
Supports display resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz frame rates, 24-bit color and 4:4:4 color sampling, using 4-lane DP 1.2a, DP 1.3, or DP 1.4 inputs at HBR2 (5.4Gbps) data rates
Jitter cleaning PLL provides stable HDMI output signal and wide compliance margin
HDCP 1.4 and HDCP 2.3 repeater functionality with on-chip key
Internal YCbCr 4:4:4/4:2:2 to YCbCr 4:2:0 conversion capability
Includes on-chip microprocessor with internal SPI ROM
Low power consumption
Internal crystal oscillator, supports external crystal or reference clock
ESD:HBM 4kV
8*8mm 68-pin QFN package with e-Pad
