Among many capacitors, there are many types of film capacitors. Among film capacitors, CBB capacitors are the most familiar to us and are often used in electronic products. In addition to CBB film capacitors, CL capacitors are also the most commonly used film capacitors.
CL capacitors are made of polyester film as a dielectric sandwiched between metal foil electrodes, wound into a cylindrical or flat column structure with or without inductance, and encapsulated with epoxy resin. They are called polyester film capacitors, also known as polyester capacitors. Commonly used CL capacitors in life include CL21 capacitors, CL21X capacitors, and CL20 capacitors.

1. CL21 capacitor (MEF)
CL21 capacitor is called metallized polyester film (MEF) capacitor, also known as metal capacitor or plastic capacitor. It uses metallized polyester film as the medium and the metal vapor-deposited layer as the electrode. It adopts non-inductive winding to form a flat columnar structure.
Main features: good appearance consistency, large capacity, small size, low loss and high insulation, good self-healing and long service life. Suitable for filtering and noise reduction of DC and VHF level signals.
2. CL21X capacitor (MEM)
CL21X capacitor is called miniaturized metallized polyester film capacitor, also known as mini metal film capacitor or mini plastic capacitor. It uses ultra-thin metallized polyester film as the dielectric and metal vapor-deposited layer as the electrode. The electrode adopts a flat columnar structure formed by non-inductive winding.
Main features: small size, large capacity, good self-healing performance, long service life. Suitable for DC isolation, bypass, coupling and filtering circuits of color TVs, program-controlled switches and precision electronic instruments.

3. CL20 capacitor
CL20 capacitor uses metallized polyester film as dielectric, metal vacuum evaporated layer as electrode, wrapped with PET tape, and encapsulated with flame-retardant epoxy resin at both ends to form a cylindrical or elliptical cylindrical structure. Main features: excellent electrical performance, small size, high temperature resistance, high reliability, and good self-healing properties. Suitable for DC and low-amplitude pulse occasions, such as: low-frequency filtering, DC isolation and bypass, etc.
