Mini audio amplifier circuits come into play whenever we like to carry our music with us. Such mini audio amplifiers will make the music system lightweight and can be moved from one place to another. Moreover, these amplifiers will reduce the cost without compromising the performance of the music system. The above system is built using a mono BTL output amplifier IC TDA7502.

IC TDA7502 is a mono BTL output amplifier best suited for use with portable recorders, radios and other mini audio devices. The IC operates from a 4.5 to 18V supply and has an internal DC volume control. The maximum gain of the amplifier is fixed at 35.5 db and can be changed using the volume control (VC) pin. The amplifier is capable of driving 2 to 3W loads and is ideal for driving 6 ohm speakers from an 8V supply.


Working principle of micro audio amplifier circuit:

IC TDA7502 is the core of this circuit and is used for amplification. Variable resistor RV1 is used to control the volume of the audio signal. Since the volume control is done using RV1, in the above schematic, the 4th pin volume control VC is not connected.


Capacitors C1 and C2 are used to filter the supply voltage and can be omitted if batteries are used. The output section is equipped with a simple 8 ohm 2 watt speaker. Make sure you choose a suitable speaker for this mini amplifier as the chip can only drive up to 6W using a 3V supply. If you use a high load speaker, you may end up smoking the amplifier IC.
