Meaning of torque motor model
The model of the torque motor usually contains the following information:
Frame number: Usually expressed in letters, indicating information such as the motor's overall dimensions and installation dimensions.
Power: Usually expressed as a number, indicating the rated output power of the motor.
Rated voltage: Usually expressed in numbers, indicating the rated voltage of the motor.
Number of poles: Usually expressed in numbers, it indicates the number of poles of the motor, which determines parameters such as the motor's operating speed and output torque.
Speed: Usually expressed in numbers, it indicates the rated speed of the motor and is also one of the important parameters of the motor's output torque.
Rated current: Usually expressed in numbers, it indicates the rated current of the motor and is also one of the important parameters when the motor is running.
For example, if the model of a torque motor is YD112M-2/4, YD indicates that the motor is a torque motor, 112 indicates the frame number, M indicates the foot mounting method, 2/4 indicates that the motor is a two-pole/four-pole motor, the rated voltage is 380V, the rated power is 3kW, the rated speed is 2880rpm, and the rated current is 7.5A.
It should be noted that the naming of torque motor models of different brands and manufacturers may be different, and the specific model information may also be different. Therefore, when selecting a model, it is necessary to select the appropriate model based on the specific application needs and parameter requirements.
The difference between torque motor and ordinary motor
There are some differences between torque motors and ordinary motors in structure and performance, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects:
The power output method is different: ordinary motors usually output power through speed, while torque motors output power through output torque.
Different torque characteristics: The torque characteristics of ordinary motors are generally linear, and gradually decrease with the increase of speed; while the torque characteristics of torque motors are generally very flat, with very high torque output within the rated speed range, which can meet the application requirements of large loads and low-speed operation.
Different control methods: Ordinary motors usually use open-loop control to control the speed and torque through power supply voltage and motor parameters; while torque motors usually use closed-loop control to accurately control the speed and torque through feedback control.
Different high-speed performance: Torque motors have good high-speed performance and can reach very high speeds, making them suitable for high-speed operation applications, while the high-speed performance of ordinary motors is generally limited.
Different low-speed performance: Torque motors have good low-speed performance and are suitable for low-speed and high-load applications, while ordinary motors generally have poor low-speed performance.
It is necessary to select the appropriate motor type according to the specific application requirements. Torque motors are usually used in applications with high torque and precision requirements, while ordinary motors are suitable for general power transmission and rotation control needs.
