The temperature of the high-voltage motor carbon brush depends on factors such as the motor's workload, speed, and ambient temperature. Generally speaking, it is normal for the carbon brush to operate at a temperature between 60°C and 80°C.
If the temperature of the high-voltage motor carbon brush is too high, it may cause thermal expansion and softening of the carbon brush material, thus affecting the working performance and life of the motor. At the same time, excessively high temperature will also increase the friction and wear between the carbon brush and the rotating parts, shortening the life of the carbon brush.
Therefore, in order to ensure the normal operation of the high-voltage motor and extend the service life of the carbon brush, it is recommended to regularly check the temperature of the high-voltage motor carbon brush to ensure that its operating temperature is within the normal range. If the carbon brush temperature is found to be abnormal, the cause should be found and handled in time.
Normally, the temperature of the high-voltage motor carbon brushes will increase as the motor load increases, but if the temperature of the carbon brushes exceeds 80°C under normal motor load, you need to consider whether there is a problem. The following are some possible reasons for the increase in the temperature of the high-voltage motor carbon brushes:
Poor quality of carbon brushes: The quality of carbon brushes directly affects their wear and temperature resistance. Low-quality carbon brushes are prone to wear, heat and softening during operation.
Poor contact of carbon brushes: If the carbon brushes have poor contact with rotating parts, it will cause a lot of sparks when the motor is working, resulting in excessively high temperatures.
Uneven carbon brush pressure: If the carbon brush pressure in the motor is uneven, it will cause uneven friction and uneven temperature of the carbon brush.
Severe wear of carbon brushes: When the carbon brushes are worn to a certain extent, the contact area between them and the rotating parts will decrease and the friction heat generated will also increase.
If the temperature of the high-voltage motor carbon brush is found to be abnormal, it should be checked and replaced in time. At the same time, during the operation of the motor, the contact condition, pressure and other parameters of the high-voltage motor carbon brush should be regularly checked and adjusted to ensure the normal operation and life of the motor.
Temperature limits of various parts of the motor;
(1) The temperature rise of the core in contact with the winding (thermometer method) should not exceed the temperature rise limit of the insulation of the winding in contact (resistance method), that is, 60℃ for Class A, 75℃ for Class E, 80℃ for Class B, 100℃ for Class F and 125℃ for Class H.
(2) The temperature of rolling bearings should not exceed 95°C, and the temperature of sliding bearings should not exceed 80°C. Too high a temperature will change the oil quality and damage the oil film.
(3) In practice, the temperature of the casing is often judged by whether it is hot to the touch, but this is related to each person's sense of touch and has a large error, so a certain amount of experience is needed.
