Due to the power supply of the frequency converter, the motor can be started at very low frequency and voltage without impact current. Various braking methods provided by the frequency converter can be used for rapid braking to achieve frequent starting and braking. Therefore, under the cyclic alternating force, the mechanical system and electromagnetic system of the motor will cause fatigue and aging of the mechanical structure and insulation structure.


The variable frequency motor can adjust the speed freely within its speed adjustment range without damage. Generally, the variable frequency motor runs continuously at 100% of the rated load for 10% ≤ 100%.


The emergence of variable frequency motors mainly solves the problem of ordinary motors running at low speeds and high speeds. The low speed operation of ordinary motors is a problem of motor heat dissipation and high-speed motor bearing strength.


Advantages of variable frequency motors:

Energy saving: Variable frequency motors can achieve more precise energy control and matching by adjusting the power supply frequency and motor speed, thereby reducing energy loss and saving energy.

Low noise: Variable frequency motors produce less noise when running because they can adjust the motor speed and load to match and reduce mechanical vibration and noise.

Adaptable to different working conditions: The variable frequency motor can automatically adjust the power frequency and motor speed according to different load and speed conditions, and can adapt to different working occasions.

Disadvantages of variable frequency motors:

Higher cost: The price of variable frequency motors is relatively high, mainly because they need to be used with a frequency converter, and the price of the frequency converter itself is also relatively high.

Technical support is required: The design, installation and maintenance of variable frequency motors require certain technical support and expertise. Improper operation may affect the operation and life of the equipment.

High requirements for power grid quality: When using variable frequency motors, you need to pay attention to the requirements of power grid quality, such as voltage, current, electromagnetic interference, etc. If the requirements are not met, it may affect the operation and life of the equipment.
