Selecting the "Prioritized startup" checkbox can speed up the startup of the IO device (start the data exchange between the controller and the device earlier).
Select this check box only if:
1. The IO controller used can prioritize selected IO devices during startup.
2. The IO devices used support prioritization.
In a PROFINET IO system, the maximum number of IO devices that can be prioritized is certain and depends on the IO controller used.
To achieve the fastest boot time, the following points should also be kept in mind:
1. In the port properties of the IO device, select a specific transmission medium (e.g. TP/ITP with 100 Mbps full duplex) and select the "Disable autonegotiation" checkbox. This can save up to 3 seconds in startup time. Note: This requires, inter alia, the use of special cables.
2. If the IO device supports it, use a fixed IP address assignment for the IO device. This can be done by deselecting "Assign IP address via IO controller" on the IO device and then initializing the IO device using the "Primary Setup Tool" or "Cycle List".
3. Use quick-start IO modules in modular IO devices whenever possible.
