Sensors play a very important role in smart home systems. One of the most important functions of smart home systems is the intelligent opening and closing and adjustment of devices. The triggering instructions are sent through sensors, which in a sense frees people's hands.

From a functional perspective, sensors include infrared touch sensors, human motion sensors, light sensors, temperature and humidity sensors, gas sensors, smoke alarms, and PM2.5 sensors. Sensors are the front-end tentacles of each subsystem. Here is a brief description of several commonly used sensors.

Human infrared/motion sensor: This type of sensor mainly senses the presence of human beings, so that the light turns on when someone comes and turns off when someone leaves. The reason for using infrared and motion dual-detection sensors is mainly to avoid false alarms caused by infrared detectors alone, thereby reducing the error rate of the entire smart home system. This type of sensor is mainly linked to the smart lighting system. The most commonly used function is to automatically turn on the light when you open the door when you get home at night, which is very convenient.

Light sensor: Light plays a very important role in our lives, but we often ignore it. For example, no matter how strong the light is outside, the lights at home always maintain a certain brightness, which increases electricity consumption. When reading, too strong light can also cause certain damage to our eyes. If there is an intelligent dimming system with a light sensor, the lights at home will automatically adjust the brightness according to the brightness of the outside world, so that the lights at home always maintain a comfortable brightness, while also reducing electricity consumption.

Temperature sensor: Similar to the light intensity sensor, it automatically adjusts the temperature according to the indoor temperature changes, and can even turn the air conditioner on and off automatically. This function is very suitable for schools, shopping malls, offices and other occasions. All air conditioners are centrally controlled, and when the temperature reaches the critical value, the air conditioner will automatically turn on. On the contrary, if the temperature does not reach the critical value, the air conditioner panel is locked at this time, and only the administrator has the authority to operate it.

Gas sensors, smoke sensors: These sensors are used in the security field. When the sensor detects smoke, it will send an alarm message to the owner and send instructions to the robot to close the gas valve and open the window. If such sensors can be used on a large scale, the number of gas poisoning incidents will be greatly reduced each year.
