Collaboration to accelerate RISC-V ecosystem with leading GPU performance
London, UK, August 23rd – Imagination Technologies IMG BXE GPU IP has been integrated into the latest RISC-V single-board computer (SBC) from Cefang Technology, the VisionFive 2. Imagination’s excellent semiconductor IP is well-known in various industries, and its GPU was selected by Cefang Technology for VisionFive 2 due to its leading performance, power and area (PPA) advantages for cloud, industrial, networking, consumer and automotive applications.

With Imagination’s GPU IP, these challenges have been successfully addressed. The IMG BXE GPU is seamlessly integrated with the Fang Jinghong system-on-chip (SoC), achieving the graphics performance goals of the single-board computer. Imagination is a strong partner for Saifang Technology to build a RISC-V ecosystem.”

Compared to Imagination's previous generation, the IMG BXE GPU has an area and bandwidth reduction of up to 25% and 35% respectively, and a fill rate 2.5 times higher than competing IP cores. The GPU scales from 1 to 16 pixels per clock (PPC), and the optimized core can easily provide complex 1080P and 4K user interfaces for digital TVs, IoT and smart home devices. The highest specification BXE provides unprecedented performance for pixel-focused applications, allowing customers to target 8K displays with optimal silicon area.
VisionFive 2 is the world's first RISC-V SBC with integrated GPU. VisionFive 2 is equipped with JH7110 SoC from Saifang Technology, which can operate at up to 1.5GHz and integrates a quad-core RISC-V CPU and a high-performance GPU. With the interface rendering technology of IMG BXE GPU, JH7110 SoC creates an excellent intelligent visual processing experience for users.
