Aixin Yuanzhi won the IIC "Annual New Startup IC Design Company" award and was selected as one of the TOP10 AI chip companies
Shanghai, China, August 18, 2021 - Yesterday, the 2022 China IC Leaders Summit and China IC Design Achievement Award Ceremony was successfully held. AI vision chip R&D and basic computing platform company "AiXin Yuanzhi" attended the summit . At the meeting, semiconductor industry experts and business leaders, senior engineers, technology and supply chain professionals in China's electronics and IC design industries, and corporate executives reviewed the development of China's semiconductor industry over the past 20 years around the theme of the summit "20 Years, Forging Ahead", and discussed the development path of China's semiconductor industry in the next decade.
Thanks to its strong self-developed capabilities and outstanding implementation results in the AI vision chip field, Aixin Yuanzhi won the "2022 China IC Design Achievement Award for New IC Design Company of the Year" award.
The 2022 China IC Design Fabless 100 Ranking List, created by AspenCore's global analyst team, was also released at the same time, and Aixin Yuanzhi was successfully selected as one of the TOP10 AI chip companies.
Self-developed "perception + computing" core technology Aixin Yuanzhi's "core" strength has been recognized by the industry
The "China IC Design Achievement Award" entered its 20th year this year. It has accompanied and witnessed the growth and development of China's semiconductor industry. It is one of the most important technical awards in China's electronics industry and has received great attention from IC design engineers and corporate executives. This time, Aixin Yuanzhi won the "Annual New Startup IC Design Company" award, which is not only a high recognition of the company's focus on technological innovation and self-developed "perception + computing" strategic layout, but also means that Aixin Yuanzhi, which has just been established for three years, is one step closer to the goal of "becoming a leading edge artificial intelligence chip company."
As an AI vision chip R&D and basic computing power platform company, Aixin Yuanzhi has focused on the R&D of high-performance, low-power artificial intelligence vision processor chips since its establishment in 2019, and independently developed neural network processors for inference acceleration. It has two core technical advantages: self-developed mixed-precision NPU and AI ISP.
At the meeting, Liu Jianwei, co-founder and vice president of Aixinyuanzhi, delivered a keynote speech entitled "Perception + Computing, End-side and Edge-side AI Chips Create a Smart Future", detailing Aixinyuanzhi's self-developed core technology and introducing its current major chip products.
According to Liu Jianwei, in order to enable chips to better "perceive" the world, Aixin Yuanzhi uses AI to empower ISP in chip design, so that the ISP can be continuously trained, breaking through the bottleneck of traditional ISP, and significantly improving image quality and rapidly improving with model iteration.
At the same time, computing power has also become one of the important indicators of AI chips. In order to ensure sufficient computing power, Aixin Yuanzhi has developed the industry's leading mixed-precision NPU, flexibly using low-bit mixed-precision algorithms to effectively improve the chip's performance-to-power ratio and reduce DDR requirements. Unlike the common form of external NPU in the industry, Aixin Yuanzhi's self-developed NPU is a heterogeneous multi-core system that can reduce CPU usage based on a multi-core hardware synchronization mechanism, allowing system applications to run faster, and provide sufficient effective computing power and support more intelligent algorithms under the condition of limited costs on the end and edge sides.
With two self-developed core technologies, hybrid precision NPU and AI ISP, and a full-featured team from chip design, R&D to production, Aixin Yuanzhi has successfully mass-produced two generations of four AI vision chips, AX630A, AX620A, AX620U, and AX170A, becoming the first company to implement AI ISP on chips and commercialize mass production. Among them, AX630A, as the first high-performance, low-power artificial intelligence vision processor chip independently developed by Aixin Yuanzhi, was successfully taped out in just 9 months and has been mass-produced in multiple product forms, demonstrating Aixin Yuanzhi's strong competitiveness as the "Annual New Startup IC Design Company".
Serving as a bridge between the physical and digital worlds for end-side and edge-side applications
With the popularization and application of AI, more and more deployments are shifting to the edge and device sides, which is why Aixin chooses AI chips for the device and edge as its main products. At present, based on the two core technologies of perception and computing, Aixin Yuanzhi's AI vision chips can effectively cope with the high complexity and high computing power requirements of the device-side algorithms. The core technology products are widely used in visual application scenarios such as smart cities, smart travel, smart manufacturing and smart wearables.
In addition, unlike server-side AI chips, terminal-side and edge-side AI chips naturally have a certain weak coupling relationship with the scenario. Therefore, Aixin Yuanzhi provides not only an AI chip on the terminal and edge sides, but a complete set of solutions. It is understood that when designing and developing chips, Aixin Yuanzhi will start with the collaborative design of applications, algorithms and chips, and by adding special hardware designs, such as special operators or hardware mechanism support, the chip and algorithm will produce a close synergy and improve the efficiency of the entire application scenario. In order to reduce the difficulty of user development and shorten the user development cycle, Aixin Yuanzhi not only provides chips, but also provides development kits such as demo boards and open source software packages to accelerate the implementation of application products.
At present, Aixin Yuanzhi's edge-side AI chips have been implemented in smart IPC cameras, smart boxes, in-vehicle aftermarket products, mobile phone products, computing power cards and other products. The complete product roadmap covers the high, medium and low-end markets, which can meet the product needs of customers in different scenarios and form a closed business loop. In the future, Aixin Yuanzhi, as a supplier of AI visual perception chips and end-side basic computing power platforms, will continue to realize the rapid implementation of the latest technologies based on the vertical integration of algorithms, chips and products, provide partners with full-stack solutions, and serve as a bridge between the physical world and the digital world.
