On March 16, Ambarella, an edge AI semiconductor and software company, and Helm.ai, a next-generation AI software developer, announced a new version of perception software for the Ambarella CVflow® AI SoC architecture. The architecture makes Helm.ai's high-end advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) software available in an ecosystem of customers and partners built on the Ambarella platform. In addition, the new integration solution enables the two companies to quickly iterate technical approaches that meet the latest automotive market needs, while providing combined hardware and software solutions to customers of both parties.

“The platform can be easily integrated into Ambarella’s CVflow hardware and significantly reduces power consumption while reaching new benchmarks in overall system efficiency running our high-end ADAS software,” said Vlad Voroninski, CEO of Helm.ai. “Ambarella’s CV2FS automotive-grade SoC platform achieves cutting-edge performance of 5.5 TOPS solution when running our software. We also plan to integrate the software into the latest CV3 domain controller SoC series.”
“Helm.ai’s new approach to training AI systems for computer vision is deep teaching. This approach has profound implications for the future of computer vision and autonomous driving, as well as the future of industries such as robotics, aviation, manufacturing, and even retail,” said Fermi Wang, President and CEO of Ambarella. “This integration combines Helm.ai’s high-end ADAS software with our CV2FS automotive-grade AI SoC platform to deliver industry-leading performance. In the future, we will integrate Helm.ai’s advanced ADAS software onto our latest CV3 SoC using Ambarella’s scalable CVflow platform to enable single-chip perception of multiple sensors. This family of central domain controller SoCs can handle both high-definition radar and vision capture, while providing fusion and path planning for ADAS to L4 autonomous vehicles.”
