introduction

The distribution network has long lines, a wide distribution area, and a complex structure. With the development of cities, it is often necessary to build or dismantle distribution networks and relocate lines. Changes are relatively frequent, so there are many distribution network projects. Insulated wire stripping is one of the basic tasks in the construction of distribution network projects. Traditional strippers have the disadvantages of being time-consuming, difficult to operate, the process is affected by the skills of the operators, and easy to damage the wires. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an insulated wire terminal stripper to eliminate the defects of traditional strippers.

1 Types of Insulated Wire Strippers

At present, there are many types of insulated wire strippers used in power systems at home and abroad. According to the different stripping potentials, they can be divided into ground potential insulated rod strippers and intermediate potential strippers. Ground potential insulated rod strippers are mainly used in live operations. The strippers are installed on the head of the insulated rod. The operator controls the stripper through the rod tail to strip the wire. The operator stays away from the live line, which can ensure the personal safety of the operator: the intermediate potential stripper refers to a stripping tool that directly strips the insulated wire using the insulated glove operation method in live operations. It can also be used for stripping work in traditional power outages or ground operations.

According to the different power sources, insulated wire strippers can be divided into manual strippers and electric strippers. Generally, the structure of manual strippers is relatively simple, but stripping is time-consuming and labor-intensive; while the structure of electric strippers is relatively complex, and because they are powered by electricity, they are more labor-saving and faster.

According to the different positions of insulated wire stripping, insulated wire strippers can be divided into insulated wire terminal strippers and insulated wire middle strippers. As the name implies, insulated wire terminal strippers are used to strip the terminals of insulated wires, and can be used in the production of knife switches, lightning arresters, switch leads, overhead line connection, cable head production, etc. Insulated wire middle strippers are mainly used for stripping work in the middle of the wire, such as stripping of main ladder contacts, stripping of grounding rings, etc.

This paper develops an electric stripper for insulated wire terminals.

2 New peeler design

In order to solve the problems of traditional insulated wire strippers, the author's R&D team has independently developed a new type of insulated wire terminal electric stripper after three months of discussion, design, modeling, material selection, processing and debugging. It includes a handheld operating part, a sleeve and a motor installed in the handheld operating part. The output shaft of the motor is adapted to one end of the sleeve for transmission connection. The other end of the sleeve is provided with a chip hole on the surface, and a blade is fixedly installed at the chip hole. The blade is used to cut the insulation layer of the insulated wire. The inner diameter of the sleeve is adapted to the outer diameter of the insulated wire. The stripper has the advantages of automated stripping process, labor saving, fast speed, high stripping efficiency and good stripping quality. The CAD design of the new stripper is shown in Figure 1, and its 3D modeling panorama is shown in Figure 2.

The actual electric stripper for insulated wire terminals is shown in Figure 3. The mechanical part and the electric part are matched. The product is light, fast, simple and labor-saving to operate, does not damage the wire, and has a wide range of applications. According to the different wire diameters, a knife head sleeve suitable for wire diameters of 35 to 240 cm2 is designed, which has advanced technology.

3. Comparison of the application effect of peelers

The peeling effects of three peelers (utility knife, cam peeler, new electric peeler) were compared:

3.1 Comparison of peeling processes

The peeling operation of traditional peeling tools is complicated, time-consuming and laborious: the new peeling tool is labor-saving and simple in operation. The peeling effect comparison is shown in Figure 4.

3.2 Comparison of peeling time

The traditional peeling tool takes 5 minutes to peel, while the new peeler only takes 0.1 minutes, reducing the peeling time by 98%, which is a significant improvement. The peeling time comparison is shown in Figure 5.

3.3 Peeling quality comparison

Using traditional tools to peel wires easily results in knife marks and damages the wires. Using the new electric stripper to strip wires leaves the wire surface intact and undamaged, with high stripping quality. The stripping quality comparison is shown in Figure 6.

4. Product application prospects

Stripping the terminals of insulated conductors is a basic operation in the construction of power distribution projects. The new electric stripper can not only reduce the workload of operators, but also effectively improve the efficiency of on-site construction.

(1) High economic benefits: The new stripper has greatly improved the efficiency of on-site construction of distribution network projects. Taking the construction of power distribution lines of power supply companies as an example, three-phase insulation stripping can reduce

It takes about 15 minutes, and one operation can increase the power supply by 650kwh. If a city carries out 10,000 peeling operations per year, the total annual power supply will increase by 6.5 million kwh, which can increase the economic benefits by more than 3 million yuan. If the peeler is further promoted nationwide, it will generate huge economic benefits.

(2) Good social benefits: The stripping device significantly improves the stripping process level, effectively prevents damage to the wire, and improves power supply reliability. At the same time, it reduces power outage time and can provide customers with high-quality services.

(3) Strong promotional potential: The new type of stripper can be widely used in distribution network projects such as distribution network maintenance, business expansion projects, emergency repairs and fault elimination, and rural power grid transformation, and has broad application prospects.

5 Conclusion

The electric stripper for insulated wire terminals developed in this paper can effectively solve the problems of traditional strippers, such as long time consumption, difficult operation, process affected by the skills of operators, and easy damage to wires. It not only reduces the workload of operators, but also effectively improves on-site construction efficiency.
