MathWorks Releases MATLAB and Simulink Version 2022a with Five New Products, 11 Major Updates, and Hundreds of New Features

Beijing, China, March 15, 2022 - MathWorks today announced the release of MATLAB and Simulink product series version 2022a. Version 2022a (R2022a) brings hundreds of MATLAB® and Simulink® feature updates and function updates, as well as 5 new products and 11 important updates. MATLAB's new features include new App and App design tool functions, graphics enhancements, and the ability to customize real-time editor tasks. Simulink updates allow users to simplify package workflows with the new package editor or accelerate simulations with model reference local solvers.

R2022a also announced new products to support wireless and industrial communications and autonomous driving:

Bluetooth® Toolbox

MathWorks Bluetooth® Toolbox provides standards-based tools to design, simulate, and verify Bluetooth communication systems. It supports test waveform generation, golden reference verification, and Bluetooth network modeling.

DSP HDL Toolbox

DSP HDL Toolbox™ provides pre-verified and hardware-ready Simulink blocks and subsystems for developing signal processing applications such as wireless, radar, audio, and sensor processing. It includes templates and reference examples for interfacing with MATLAB and Simulink.

Industrial Communication Toolbox

Industrial Communication Toolbox™ provides access to real-time and historical data of industrial objects directly from MATLAB and Simulink. Users can read, write, and log OPC Unified Architecture (UA) data based on a variety of devices, such as distributed control systems, supervisory control and data acquisition systems, and programmable logic controllers.

Wireless Testbench

Wireless Testbench™ provides reference applications that run on off-the-shelf software-defined radio (SDR) hardware such as the USRP™. These reference applications allow users to perform high-speed data transmission, capture, and spectrum monitoring using wireless signals.

RoadRunner Scenario

RoadRunner Scenario™ is an interactive editor for designing scenarios for simulating and testing automated driving systems. Place vehicles and paths, define logic, parameterize scenarios, and then simulate scenarios in the editor. Users can choose from built-in traffic participant vehicles or design their own using MATLAB and Simulink or CARLA.

Design of SAW tag reader system based on MATLAB instrument control toolbox
Introduction Surface acoustic wave (SAW) is an elastic wave that concentrates its energy on the shallow surface of a solid and propagates. Since surface acoustic waves are transduced and propagated on the surface of a medium, the injection, extraction, and processing of information can be easily realized. At p
