1. Remote control technology
Remote control technology refers to the technology that allows a computer (master) to control another or multiple computers (controlled) through the network without being affected by distance. When using the master computer to control the controlled computer, it is just like sitting in front of the screen of the controlled computer. You can monitor the operation of the controlled computer, start or close the application of the controlled computer, and use the resources of the controlled computer. The master computer only transmits the keyboard and mouse instructions to the controlled computer, and transmits the screen information of the controlled computer back through the network. When operating the controlled computer, it is all implemented in the controlled computer, whether opening or closing programs or downloading files, it is also in the controlled computer.
2. Methods for realizing remote control
1. Realize through remote control software
There are many popular remote control software. For example: Microsoft Remote Desktop; SYMANTEC's "pcAnywhere" software; the famous domestic "Ice River" software, etc. Remote control software are all S/C mode. The host computer installs the master control software, and the controlled end installs the client and runs it, and then the computer group can be remotely managed. However, when the controlled end has blue screen, BIOS settings, freeze, shutdown and other phenomena, the remote management software is powerless.
2. Remote management through hardware + software
The computer motherboard is embedded with Intel AMT 8.0 technology (Intel Active Management Technology), which is an embedded system integrated into the chipset and does not rely on a specific operating system. This is also the difference between Intel AMT technology and remote control software. This technology allows managers to remotely manage and repair networked computer systems, including BIOS settings, system recovery, remote power on and off, etc. The implementation process is completely transparent to the service object, thus saving users time and computer maintenance costs.
Intel AMT can automatically execute a subsystem independent of the operating system. It is precisely because of the environment independent of the operating system that the administrator can remotely monitor and manage the client when the operating system fails. Through this technology, which was originally exclusive to the server application field, future commercial computers and industrial computers will be able to remotely manage and detect the system when the operating system is damaged or the system fails, or actively send warning messages when the system fails, perform software and hardware inspections, remotely update BIOS, virus codes and operating systems, and even manage the system through the network when it is shut down. For corporate users, it can greatly reduce management costs.
3. Applications based on Intel AMT 8.0 technology
Yanqiang embedded industrial computers use Intel's Active Management Technology (AMT), which can achieve efficient remote management, monitoring and maintenance, reduce customers' maintenance costs, and facilitate the construction of intelligent and interconnected embedded industrial computer solutions.
For example, in factory automation, train/EMU base stations, airport digital signage, highway monitoring, wind/solar power generation, etc., because intelligent systems are often deployed in remote areas, the cost of human maintenance is very high. We have developed remote management technology for embedded industrial computers to help enterprises with efficient intelligent remote management, which can not only ensure the continuous operation of the system, but also reduce maintenance costs. It can continuously monitor the health status of multiple devices and send alarm notifications in the form of emails and text messages when the system is abnormal. In addition, even when the system is shut down or even crashed, the administrator can still access the system and perform some recovery measures that cannot be achieved by simple remote management software solutions.
