Ramaxel, one of the leading providers of server, storage and design service solutions, has selected ON Semiconductor's (NASDAQ: ON) Intelligent Cloud Power technology for its upcoming Intel-based VR13.HC servers. The power requirements are increasing with each generation of processors. ON Semiconductor offers a broad portfolio of high-performance, high-reliability Cloud Power solutions that are fully capable of meeting these requirements.
“As an emerging leader in the fast-growing cloud market, we must have confidence in our suppliers,” said AB Wang, senior vice president of Server Business Unit and Storage/Flash Development at Memory Technologies. “ON Semiconductor has become a strategic partner for us because of their superior quality, innovation, efficiency, technical support and supply capabilities, enabling us to streamline our development process and prepare for high-volume production.”
Memory Technology's latest series of servers will use ON Semiconductor's recently released FD3501 digital multiphase controller, which has excellent transient response, programmability and ease of use. The controller combines ON Semiconductor's intelligent power stage, point-of-load regulator and electronic fuse (e-Fuse) technology to provide industry-leading high energy efficiency, performance and reliability.
“ON Semiconductor has more than 20 years of experience designing and manufacturing multiphase controllers in high volume,” said Robert Tong, vice president of ON Semiconductor’s Mobile, Computing and Cloud Division. “The introduction of the FD3501 digital multiphase controller expands our product portfolio to the latest generation of cloud server systems based on the Intel VR13.HC platform, further strengthening the company’s position as a total solution provider.”
Ding Wang, Vice President of Server Development and Corporate R&D at Memory Technologies, continued: “ON Semiconductor fully enabled the development of our VR13.HC platform, and we are confident that they will provide best-in-class technology for the development of Memory Technologies’ next-generation VR14 server platform.”
In addition to the FD3501, ON Semiconductor will soon launch 8-phase and 12-phase digital multiphase controllers to support Intel's VR14 server platform. The company's innovations continue to drive the development of cloud computing, providing intelligent and efficient technologies to enable the entire cloud-to-edge infrastructure.
