Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance, led by Baidu, officially established

Under the guidance and support of Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee and other units, the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance, initiated by Baidu, was announced to be established, and 36 enterprises and institutions joined the alliance. According to the resolution of the first council of the alliance, Baidu was appointed as the chairman unit, and Baidu CTO Wang Haifeng was appointed as the chairman of the alliance. Didi Chuxing, Volcano Engine, Huawei, JD.com, Kunpeng Lianchuang, Kuaishou, Megvii, Beijing Big Data Center, Good Future Group, Meituan, Xiaomi, Zhiyuan Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, 4Paradigm, BOE, China Unicom Digital Technology, 360 Vision, China Telecom Beijing Branch, China Mobile Beijing Branch, and Cambrian, a total of 19 companies were appointed as vice chairman units.

It is reported that the alliance aims to enhance the overall competitiveness of Beijing's artificial intelligence industry in domestic and international markets. Based on Beijing's artificial intelligence industry-university-research resource advantages, it will build an artificial intelligence technology and industry collaboration platform with an international perspective to achieve resource sharing, complementary advantages, and collaborative cooperation, serve corporate development, assist government decision-making, and promote artificial intelligence industry collaboration and ecological construction.

A signing ceremony was also held at the event. Baidu and Mentougou District of Beijing signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote the development of the new economy in Mentougou District. Subsequently, the Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance invited guests from all walks of life in industry, academia and research to hold the 2021 Beijing Artificial Intelligence Industry Development Forum under the chairmanship of Chen Shangyi, chairman of the Baidu Technology Committee, to discuss the opportunities and paths for the development of artificial intelligence in Beijing.

The establishment ceremony of the alliance was held on site. Wang Haifeng, chairman of the alliance and CTO of Baidu, said that the establishment of the alliance is one of the important tasks of the pilot zone, and the alliance companies should play a due leading and exemplary role. The subsequent alliance will focus on promoting the optimal allocation of resources, promoting the common progress of enterprises, supporting industrial policy research, and undertaking government-commissioned matters. The alliance will seize the historical opportunity of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation to contribute to the development of Beijing's artificial intelligence industry.
