Samsung Display will participate in the world's largest display exhibition "SID Display Week 2021", showcasing next-generation OLED technologies such as S-foldable, Slidable, and under-screen camera (UPC), demonstrating its technological strength in the OLED field.

From May 17th to 21st (US time), Samsung Display will participate in the "SID Display Week 2021" online exhibition hosted by the Society for Information Display (SID).

In this online exhibition, Samsung Display takes "Better life thru Samsung OLED" as its theme and introduces the next generation of OLED products and the outstanding performance of Samsung OLED through an online exhibition hall. Visitors can hear the keynote speech of President Choi Joo-sun and the acceptance speech of President Kim Seong-cheol, and see a variety of content.

□Next-generation OLED technology is released for the first time, turning the future into reality

At this online exhibition, Samsung Display will showcase the next-generation OLED technology that will change our daily lives, such as S-shaped foldable displays, sliding displays, under-screen cameras, etc.

▲S-foldable display

Samsung Display will introduce the S-shaped foldable display through a video. It uses the current outstanding OLED technology and is a product that can be folded multiple times - folded inside and outside twice. When folded, it can be used like a smartphone; when fully unfolded, it is like a tablet.

▲17-inch foldable display

This is a 17-inch foldable product. When folded with a 4:3 screen ratio, it can present a tablet-sized screen; when unfolded, it is a 17-inch monitor-level screen. This foldable screen is highly portable while providing a differentiated product like a PC monitor ("Carrying Small Seeing Big").

▲Slidable display

This product can stretch the screen horizontally while maintaining the appearance of existing smartphones, giving full play to the advantages of a large screen. It is only the size of an ordinary smartphone, which is both portable and convenient. When the screen is stretched, you can perform multitasking or watch large-screen videos and content.

▲Under Panel Camera (UPC)

This is a full-screen technology that minimizes the top border and maximizes the display screen by installing the front camera under the display, improving the transmittance of the camera module part of the display and ensuring the camera function.

On May 18, Samsung Display President Joo-Sun Choi will deliver a keynote speech on the future of display

In addition to participating in SID 2021, Samsung Display also actively participates in various other activities, such as keynote speeches, paper reports, etc.

It is worth mentioning that on May 18, Joo-Sun Choi, president of Samsung Display, will deliver a keynote speech entitled “The Metaverse and the Great Future of Display”.

At the same time, for his contribution to the mass production of high-resolution LTPS-based OLEDs, President Kim Sung-cheol received the "Karl Ferdinand Braun Prize" from the Information Display Society. In the online exhibition hall, we can hear the acceptance speech.

At the same time, Samsung Display will also present 27 papers on various display topics at the exhibition, such as next-generation light-emitting materials and TFT device technology.

“A Samsung Display official said: SID Display Week 2021 is an important event that demonstrates the development potential of the display industry in the ‘non-contact’ and ‘remote’ era. Samsung Display will use this exhibition to present the company’s technological prospects and innovative OLED solutions, while providing a display experience that changes daily life.”
