Hongguang MINIEV sets record, sales exceed 200,000 in 200 days after launch

SAIC-GM-Wuling officially announced that the Hongguang MINIEV, which just won the global single-energy vehicle sales championship in January, has set a new record: 200 days after its launch, sales have exceeded 200,000 units, making it the global small new energy vehicle sales record holder.

In addition to Tesla Model 3, Wuling Hongguang MINIEV can be said to be the most dazzling new energy model in 2020. The car was officially launched in July 2020 and then swept the Chinese new energy market. The new car has launched 3 different configuration versions, with a price range of 28,800-38,800 yuan. Wuling Hongguang MINIEV adopts the design concept of "small outside and big inside". The body size is not large, but the space is more flexible. In terms of configuration, the new car is equipped with 10 safety configurations such as low-speed pedestrian warning system and tire pressure monitoring.

In August 2020, Hongguang MINIEV sold 15,000 units a month, surpassing Tesla Model 3 to become the best-selling new energy vehicle. From July to December, in less than 5 months, Hongguang MINIEV sold more than 127,000 units in total, becoming a phenomenal new car in China's new energy market.

According to foreign media reports, Latvian car manufacturer Dartz will introduce the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and sell it in some European countries. The new car may adopt the revived Russian brand "Freze", and the model will be renamed "NikrobEV", with an estimated starting price of 9,999 euros (about 78,000 yuan).
