According to juve patent, Lenovo may face a ban on the sale of laptops and tablets in Germany after the Munich District Court issued an injunction against the company. The lawsuit was based on Nokia's accusation that Lenovo infringed its video coding patents.

The report said that the global dispute between Nokia and Lenovo over video coding patent infringement remains undecided. In Germany, Nokia claimed that Lenovo infringed six of its patents related to the "International Telecommunication Union H.264 Advanced Video Coding Standard". The Mannheim Regional Court dismissed one of the six lawsuits filed by Nokia in July this year, and Lenovo won its first victory (Case ID: 7 0 107/19; EP 12 87 705).

But according to the latest news from juve patent, the Munich Regional Court ruled last week that Lenovo infringed Nokia's EP 14 33 316 patent and issued an injunction, as well as product recalls and damages (Case ID: 21 O 13026/19).

There were also reports that Nokia could suspend the execution of the judgment to pay a deposit of 3.25 million euros. But just a few days later, Lenovo appealed to the Munich Higher Regional Court.

Lenovo Group was founded in 1984 by 11 scientific and technical personnel with an investment of RMB 200,000 from the Institute of Computing Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. It is a large enterprise group with diversified development in the information industry in China and an innovative international technology company. Since 1996, Lenovo's computer sales have always ranked first in the domestic market of China; as a leading company in the global computer market, Lenovo is engaged in the development, manufacture and sale of reliable, safe and easy-to-use technology products and high-quality professional services to help global customers and partners achieve success. Lenovo mainly produces desktop computers, servers, laptops, smart TVs, printers, PDAs, motherboards, mobile phones, all-in-one computers and other products.

In 2005, Lenovo Group acquired IBM's PC (Personal Computer) Division; in 2013, Lenovo's computer sales ranked first in the world, becoming the world's largest PC manufacturer. In October 2014, Lenovo Group announced that it had completed the acquisition of Motorola Mobility. Since April 1, 2014, Lenovo Group has established four new, relatively independent business groups, namely the PC Business Group, the Mobile Business Group, the Enterprise Business Group, and the Cloud Service Business Group. In August 2016, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce released the "2016 China Top 500 Private Enterprises" list, and Lenovo ranked fourth.

In July 2019, the 2019 Fortune Global 500 was released: Lenovo ranked 212th. In September 2019, the 2019 China Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises was released, Lenovo Group Limited ranked 16th. In October 2019, Lenovo ranked 89th in the 2019 Forbes Global Digital Economy Top 100. As of November 1, 2019, Lenovo's 35th anniversary, Lenovo's annual revenue exceeded RMB 350 billion.

On November 2, the Lenovo Future Center, which took two years to build and has a total area of 6,500 square meters, opened its doors to welcome visitors. On December 18, 2019, the People's Daily released the China Brand Development Index 100 list, and Lenovo Group ranked 16th.

Domestic netizens are very concerned about patent disputes between Chinese and foreign companies, but when it comes to the patent dispute between Lenovo and Nokia, domestic netizens are not only unconcerned, but also feel very happy. The reason is that Lenovo is too disappointing. As the pride of China, Lenovo was pinned with great hopes by the Chinese people, but now it does not have a good reputation among domestic netizens. Why is this so?

Why was Lenovo sued for patent infringement? The main reason is that Lenovo has no core technology at all, so it can only use other people's patented technology, which makes Lenovo vulnerable to being strangled. Academician Ni Guangnan, who was once Lenovo's technical consultant, insisted on taking the route of self-developed technology, but Liu Chuanzhi refused, saying that Lenovo did not need to have its own technology at all, as long as it did a good job in marketing.

Liu Chuanzhi's decision resulted in Lenovo's future development, not only failing to become the world's number one, but also having a smaller and smaller share in the domestic market. Looking back to the past, the unknown Huawei has now become a symbol of Chinese technology companies, while the once glorious Lenovo has come to an end. However, what is disgusting is Lenovo's Yang Yuanqing, who publicly declared that Lenovo was not a Chinese company. Later, due to pressure from public opinion, he changed his words and said that Lenovo was an international company from China.

In addition, at the 3GPP meeting, Lenovo, which was supposed to help each other, gave up Huawei and cast a key vote for Qualcomm of the United States, which led to the 5G standard almost being controlled by the United States again. Afterwards, Lenovo also clarified that it had a cooperative relationship with Qualcomm. In response to this, domestic netizens were merciless and "fired" at Lenovo, complaining that Lenovo should get out of the Chinese market.

But rationally speaking, the quality of Lenovo laptops is still guaranteed. Lenovo is a world-renowned computer manufacturer, and its production line is highly specialized. Its products are strictly quality-controlled before leaving the factory. After all, Lenovo laptops are of good quality, and their after-sales service is also in place. In addition, it is a Chinese national brand, so it is also welcomed and loved by many Chinese users.
