Recently, AIWAYS announced seven patents obtained in China and Europe, one of which involves a mobile charging robot. The mobile charging robot CARL can find electric vehicles by itself and charge them.
It is reported that the robot can automatically find a parking space and charge the vehicle after the car owner scans the code. After charging is completed, the robot will return to the charging facility to recharge itself.
In the video, the mobile charging robot CARL looks like an automatic vacuum cleaner, with a 30 or 60kWh mobile energy storage device. Taking the AIWAYS U5 with a battery capacity of 63kWh as an example, CARL can complete 80% charging within 45 minutes.
After charging is complete, CARL can continue to charge the next electric vehicle or return to the base to charge its own battery.
It is worth mentioning that the charging robot can not only charge the models of Aiways, but also other models with the same charging standards.
In fact, AIWAYS is not the first automaker to come up with a mobile charging robot. Volkswagen and Ford have also released similar charging solutions. Although the solution has not yet been mass-produced or popularized, it ultimately provides a new and convenient way to charge electric vehicles.
