Western Digital launches new external gaming hard drive to relieve players of worries

For gamers who often have to delete old games to make room for new games in their limited-capacity consoles, Western Digital has now announced five "WD Black" external gaming hard drives to relieve these players of their worries. These external hard drives range in capacity from the 500GB P50 Game Drive SSD to the 12TB D10 Game Drive for Xbox One, which can store up to 300 games to make an impressive game library, including modern AAA titles with DLC, 4K textures, deep branching storylines and massive open worlds, which usually end up taking up more than 100GB of storage space on our gaming systems.

  

Western Digital's newly released "WD Black" series consists of the following models, including the WD Black P50 Game Drive SSD (500GB $180, 1TB $250, 2TB $500). This aluminum alloy drive is equipped with a 20 Gbps USB Type-C interface and transfer speeds of up to 1980MB/s. It has a five-year warranty and is expected to ship later this year; WD Black P10 Game Drive (2TB $90, 4TB $130, 5TB $150). The 2TB version of this drive has a transfer speed of 140MB/s, while the 4TB and 5TB versions have a transfer speed of 130MB/s. The latter variant can store 125 games, each of which is about 40GB. It also supports Superspeed USB 5GB/s connection and comes with a three-year warranty. It ships this month;

  

 

 

WD Black P10 Game Drive for Xbox One ($100 for 3TB, $150 for 5TB), this drive comes with a two-month free subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, features USB 3.2 Gen 1 and 130MB/s transfer speeds. It has a three-year warranty and ships this month; WD Black D10 Game Drive ($200 for 8TB), this 7200 RPM hard drive can hold up to 200 games and has a faster transfer speed of 250MB/s. It has active cooling and an external power supply with two 7.5W charging ports. It has a three-year warranty and ships in September; WD Black D10 Game Drive for Xbox One ($200 for 8TB, $300 for 12TB), the heaviest of the series, weighs 0.96kg, has a 7200rpm rotation speed, transfers data at 250MB/s, can store 300 games, and comes with a three-month free subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and an external power supply with two 7.5W charging ports. This drive also comes with a three-year warranty and will ship in September.
