NAND Flash controller chip manufacturer Phison announced a consolidated revenue of NT$4.063 billion in July, a monthly growth of 21.51% and an annual growth of 13.81%. The cumulative consolidated revenue from January to July was NT$23.189 billion, the same as the same period last year. The monthly revenue performance has been steadily rising, mainly because global customers have gradually stocked up their inventory in response to the peak season, and their view on the gradual growth of demand in the second half of the year remains unchanged.
Phison pointed out that compared with the same period last year, the total shipments of various applications in July increased by 57% for memory modules, 86% for SSD control chips, and 116% for SSD and eMMC finished products. The total number of memory bits also maintained a high growth of 116% year-on-year.
Phison also announced its participation in the world's largest flash memory summit FMS (Flash Memory Summit), and will exhibit a full range of PCIe 4.0 solutions at the venue, including E16, E18, E19T, etc., announcing the arrival of the PCIe 4.0 era.
Chairman Pan Jiancheng said that at this FMS event, the company demonstrated the next-generation PCIe 4.0 SSD controller PS5018-E18, which inherits the E16 technology and experience, as well as the ultra-high-speed Gen4 NVMe SSD LQD4500 displayed by technology partner Liqid, and Cigent's highly secure SSD solution with dynamic data protection engine D3E.
Phison plans to release the low-power and DRAM-Less version of the PCIe Gen4x4 SSD controller chip PS5019-E19T for the first time. It is aimed at application systems that are sensitive to power consumption or have strict heat dissipation requirements, such as notebook computers and game consoles. It is a cost-effective SSD controller chip that combines high performance and power saving, and will be of great help in expanding the application and penetration of PCIe 4.0.
In addition, Phison also exhibited the PS5013-E13T 1113 BGA SSD storage solution for the first time. Phison explained that the product is only 11.5 x 13 x 1.2mm in size, with a maximum sequential performance of 1.7GB/s read and 1.1GB/s write, and a power consumption of only 1.5W, making it suitable for long-term power-saving embedded system applications.
