Foxconn, the world's leading electronics contract manufacturer, will hold a shareholders' meeting this Friday (21st). This will be the last Foxconn shareholders' meeting that Terry Gou, chairman of the board, will attend as chairman after he announced that he would step down.

However, it is understood that in order to declare his determination, Terry Gou will leave the meeting immediately after his opening speech and designate an acting chairman from among the new director candidates to preside over the meeting. It is expected that Lu Fangming and Liu Yangwei will be possible candidates.

In the past two months, Terry Gou has begun to implement his determination to step back. Except for the board of directors' meetings, he has hardly attended other routine meetings, and has directly handed over the meetings to the heads of various groups.

Originally, the market had many questions that it wanted to ask Terry Gou at this shareholders' meeting after Foxconn stepped down. Now that Terry Gou is not presiding over the meeting, these questions will not be answered by him, but will be responded to by other managers instead. Whether he can satisfy the shareholders will also be a focus of outside observation.

In particular, Foxconn will also re-elect its directors and supervisors this year. It is quite curious whether the foreign legal person, as the major shareholder, will have any unexpected reaction, or will continue to support the director candidates nominated by Foxconn as usual.

This week can be called the super shareholders' meeting week for Hon Hai Group. In addition to Hon Hai's shareholders' meeting on Friday, Asia Pacific Telecom will hold a shareholders' meeting tomorrow (19th), and panel manufacturer Innolux will hold a shareholders' meeting on the 20th. The views of Taiwan's largest electronics group on this year's economic situation will inevitably affect investment trends in the second half of the year.
